Though the high school basketball season concludes, there are plenty of notable underclassmen prospects who deserve recognition for their production. Prep Hoops will provide various editions of true stock risers from the 2025-2028 classes. Let’s get into a list of “Next Up” risers.
Jermal Jones | CG | 2026 | Bell Creek | @JermalJonesJr0
Recent offers: Cincinnati, Purdue, California
Jones was instantly put on my radar after watching him perform and lead Bell Creek in multiple categories for two consecutive seasons. He’s only turned things up a notch and starting to get more media attention with impressive performances. He’s a do-it-all type of athlete who’s mainly a scoring threat at the next level but is still developing his overall game and growing into his body. Has really good upside and will be one of the premier college-ready prospects in the Tampa area in years to come.
Brandon Bass Jr Brandon Bass Jr 6'5" | SG Windermere Prep | 2026 State FL | CG | 2026 | Windermere Prep | @BrandonBassJr
Offers: USF, Stanford, UCF, Houston
This kid has developed into a rising star since first getting eyes on him a couple of seasons ago. I knew right away he was the real deal. He’s only progressed his overall game while picking up a few big-time Division I offers. He has incredible upside with a good frame that he uses to torture opposing defenses. Led his team in points during his freshman season while leading the Lakers to the state championship game. Don’t be surprised if they’re right back in it with Bass being a playmaking star.
Gabe Weis Gabe Weis 6'8" | PF Montverde Academy | 2026 State FL | Wing | 2026 | Montverde Academy | @WeisGabe
Offers: Iowa, Nebraska, LSU, Penn State
The rising 4-star 2026 prospect has made some noise on the offseason AAU scene where he’s shown off his 6-6 frame and ability to make it happen on the offensive side from the wing position. No doubt this kid is primed for big-time P4 basketball but have to give recognition where it’s due. Keep an eye on Weis to earn another star and develop into one of the top in the class.
Joe Philon | F | 2026 | Blake | @J0e_Phi1on
Interest: Texas A&M, Rice, Sam Houston
College coaches need to look out for the rising 6-7 sophom*ore guard Jojo Philon (15.2 PPG) who will have a major impact on the game for his team this coming season. This kid is a tough and explosive athlete who can impact the game from the wing and dominate the boards with his size. He’s a versatile defender who can guard multiple positions on the defensive end. He’s rising in the national ranks and will start to bring in some offers soon.
Drake “DJ” Sandi | CG | 2026 | St. Thomas Aquinas | @DJSandi_
Offers: Jacksonville University
Sandi finished as a scoring leader on a solid STA Raiders basketball program while showing his ability to be a solid combo guard for the next level. The 6-2 sophom*ore riser is still growing into his frame but has displayed a high IQ and passing skills with the rock. He’s an underrated athletic combo piece that can play solid defense and be an offensive asset.
Arcadian Davis | F | 2026 | Lennard | @arcadian_davis
2023 stats: 17.8 PPG – 10.6 rebounds – 1.9 blocks
Davis is an explosive going forward that’s growing into his game and body but man the athleticism is something to get eyes on. The lefty stands around 6-6 with plenty of time to add weight to his lengthy frame. Impressed with the season numbers and how he moves on film. Wouldn’t be surprised if he sees an uptick in college interest with more eyes on his game.
