Thanks to the fine folks at Baller TV, I was able to catch a whole lot of basketball on Thursday and Friday. Here are a few of my notes:

Looked so good offensively at BCAT. Whether on catch and shoot rhythm threes, or using pump fakes and jabs to get her defender off balance to attack and shoot off the dribble in the midrange, she was scoring at ease. Incredibly footwork, and few players have a “jab” series like she does.

Walden has been good….but she’s starting to become great, and that’s what college coaches saw at BCAT. Versus Trevezant, she had 30 points on 10 made threes, and vs Beech another 21 points with 7 made threes, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. She was also making teams pay for bad closeouts by attacking the rim with confidence and strength. She’s getting better and better at a rate that’s hard to match.

Did her normal thing on Thursday going 2-0 while averaging 20 points a game, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in big wins over Oakland and Green Hill. Butler looked poised and super confident. I also think her floor vision is begging to to really improve as that’s the next important evolution in her game.

I saw some really nice things from Patel defensively–and per the college coaches I’ve talked to, that’s what they need to see. Nobody questions her ability to knock down shots, and her offensive skill is excellent. Her ability to sit in a stance and defend, rebound, and block shots are what will take her game to the next level, and she’s started to show that this summer.

One of the better ’27s in the state, and showed it off at BCAT. Her defensive ability gives her the chance to really be special, and her grit and “want to” are off the charts. Offensively, her game is developing nicely. She’s money from midrange, she can attack the rim with either hand, and her 3 ball is showing real signs of consistency.

A really impressive sophom*ore wing with great size for her position. She could be an “x factor” for what will be a really good White County team. Her ability to rebound and score efficiently in the paint were on full display at BCAT. By my count, she had two double doubles, including a 10 rebound game and a 15 rebound game. She’s a ’27 that looks to have gotten much better this spring.
